Una canción: Powder Room Collapse (Rebekka Bakken)

La cantante noruega Rebekka Bakken está considerada como una de las mejores voces del jazz escandinavo, ya de por sí rico. Además es cantautora. Rebekka señala:“I write about events and people, and I ask myself how these people feel at that moment.” La canción  “Powder Room Collapse” es un ejemplo de esa forma de trabajar desde lo cotidiano.  La autora señala respecto a esta canción: “When women put on their make-up in front of a mirror you can see pretty well what’s going on in their minds. It could be virtually anything. They could be thinking about their financial situation or question themselves ‘Is my hair still okay? La canción se convierte en un retrato irónico ante el espejo del tocador.

Powder Room Collapse (Rebekka Bakken)

Red velvet carpet floor
Mirrors on the wall
Desires in a life pass by
Most of them unsatisfied

Underneath a crazy moon
Secrets of a powder room
Dirty lipstick on the shelf
7-up and hair gel

Is my makeup done all right
Will my hairdo last all night
Happiness for everyone
Peace and love and shiny stones

I could be ready
I could be ready
Ready for the moon outside
To take me out for drinks tonight
I could be ready
I could be ready
A powder room collapse tonight
Can I just get my hair right

Sales tax and facial aid
Confidence and fair trade
Thighs ass and cellulite
Democracy and human rights

Is my makeup done all right
Will my hairdo last all night
Happiness for everyone
Peace and love and shiny stones

I could be ready
I could be ready
Ready for the moon outside
To take me out for drinks tonight
I could be ready
I could be ready
A powder room collapse tonight
Can I just get my hair right
